New CRTC Brochure Available Just In Time For Recruitment Season



The new CRTC brochure was recently published and has been sent out to 2,700 families from the nine school districts sending students to our regional Career and Technical Education center.  This year’s brochure includes updated program information, new CRTC+ student profiles, and a new work-based learning page, and it will be an especially important marketing tool in a school year where face-to-face student recruitment will not be possible.

“Because of COVID restrictions on in-person contact, it’s going to be a challenging year to recruit students into our center,” said CRTC Program Coordinator Kate Amrol. “So we will be relying on our brochure and our social media sites to help us to connect to interested freshman and sophomore students and their families.”


The CRTC serves almost 700 students from nine Concord-area school districts, and offers 11 career pathway programs where students can earn industry credentials and college credits while exploring their interests, talents and ambitions in a dynamic and interactive setting. These CTE programs are open to 10th-, 11th- and 12th-grade students, who sign up or apply in the spring semester of the previous school year. Home schooled and public charter school students also are eligible to participate for free. 


The CRTC starts its recruitment and registration for the following school year in January, and interested students should speak to their school counselor, check out our website and social media sites, or email us at: info@thecrtc.org for more information.

  April is Admissions Month at CRTC Over the past several weeks CRTC staff has had to make some pretty tough decisions as they’ve sifted through applications to determine the make up September’s Year I classes, and have carefully reviewed each first year student’s SPUR assessments to decide who would be invited back to complete their second year. Year I students and new applicants already should have received notification letters or emails that inform them of their status and provide instructions for next steps. Any student who has not yet received notification should talk to their CRTC teacher or call the CRTC office. Each year we have more qualified students than we have open seats in our programs, so it’s necessary to make some difficult decisions.   Meet Our Teachers:  Gail Beaudoin, Criminal Justice CRTC programs are a blend of rigorous academics and applied learning that provide students with the opportunity to explore their interests, talents and career ambitions. The lynchpin in these programs is the unique character of the CRTC teacher, who typically has years of industry experience before making the transition to the classroom.  The CRTC Criminal Justice teacher, Gail Beaudoin, has over three decades of law enforcement experience, including 11 years as a Criminal Bureau detective, and was the first female in the Chelmsford, MA, Police Department to attain the rank of Lieutenant. She holds a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from UMass, and spent 15 years as an adjunct professor in Criminal Justice at UMass, Lowell.
